MBARQGO Partners With TOMS to End Gun Violence

After yet another tragic shooting here at home in United States, TOMS Founder Blake Mycoskie announced the “End Gun Violence Together” initiative.
To help carry the weight of this initiative we partnered with TOMS, to create a special edition of our MEDICUS Doctor-Bag that will help amplify the action @TOMS has taken.
TOMS pledged a historic commitment of $5,000,000 to support organizations and initiatives that are committed to ending gun violence. Since then, nearly 750,000 individuals join the campaign by writing postcards to their Representatives in support of HR8.
Knowing the magnitude of this initiative, MBARQGO set out to create not just a bag...
But a physical representation of our activism.
- The silhouette of the bag is almost as old as the country itself, and we contemplate this country’s telling history as we carefully and thoughtfully approach this issue.
- The frame of the bag represents the strong and courageous backbone that’s necessary to carry this cause to the finish line.
- The thick leather represents the tough kin that one has to have to face the opposition and naysayers that say this project is too big to tackle.
- The robust canvas represents the fabric of intersectionality that is woven through all of us affected by this issue.
The bold artwork is our creed, our pledge, our charge, and our hope, and it’s what we are going to do...End Gun Violence Together.
